DIGITAL ARCHIVE
In contemporary fashion culture archives tell the story of the creative process: they are rooms of wonders, places of research, of representation and reinterpretation of the past, cognitive moments for inventing the future. With the digital archive project, Giorgio Armani makes his archive available to the public, offering an inexhaustible reservoir of ideas, the possibility to reconstruct all the phases of the designer’s design process and work method, and illustrating his creative process. The archive brings together approximately 1000 outfits divided by season and collection, 2000 garments and accessories, a number of sketches, runway and backstage footage, iconic advertising campaign photographs and magazines. The digital archive area, located on the third floor of Armani/Silos, consists of research terminals, a screening room and touchscreen tables.
Admission is by free ticket during the museum opening days and hours.
A free admission ticket for the digital archive is automatically issued for each admission ticket for the museum.
